FC 26 Festival of Football Tokens — How to Earn Them & What to Spend Them On

The Festival of Football event introduces a brand-new in-game currency: Festival of Football Tokens. If you're confused about what they are, how you earn them, and whether they're worth grinding for — this is the guide you need. Short answer: yes, they're worth it, and you'll earn them just by playing normally.

What Are Festival of Football Tokens?

Tokens are a dedicated event currency that exists only during the Festival of Football (June 5 – July 24, 2026). EA has explicitly confirmed:

  • They are not purchasable — you cannot buy them with real money or FIFA Points
  • They are not available in packs
  • They are earned exclusively through FUT gameplay
  • They expire at the end of the event (July 24)

How to Earn Tokens — All Confirmed Sources

Activity Token Source? Notes
FUT Rivals ✅ Confirmed Standard weekly play
Squad Battles ✅ Confirmed Good for offline players
FUT Champions / WL ✅ Confirmed Highest Token yield expected here
Rush ✅ Confirmed Casual mode, steady trickle
Objectives & SBCs ✅ Confirmed Event objectives likely to give bonus Tokens
Pack purchases / Transfer Market ❌ Not available Pay-to-accelerate does not apply here

Exact Token rates per activity haven't been published yet — EA will reveal the full breakdown in-game on June 5. Based on previous event currencies (FUT Birthday Tokens, TOTS Moments Tokens), expect Rivals and Champs to give the most per session.

The Token Store — What You Can Spend Them On

The Token Store opens on June 5. EA has confirmed it includes:

  • Player items — promo cards from the Festival of Football waves
  • Packs — premium packs exchangeable for Tokens
  • Rewards — other event-specific items (full list on June 5)

The store will update throughout the event — don't panic-spend your Tokens on day one. Wait a few days to see the full catalogue and what's coming in later waves (Glory Hunters, Phenoms, Summer Stars).

Should You Grind Tokens Hard?

Practical take: if you play your normal Rivals/Champs sessions, Tokens will accumulate naturally. There's no need to change your playstyle just for Tokens. Where it gets interesting is the objective grind — if EA drops specific event objectives that award bonus Tokens, those are worth doing even if you don't normally bother with objectives, because they stack fast.

One genuine piece of advice: don't splurge Tokens in the first week on low-value players. The best items in a Token store are usually released in the middle-to-late stage of an event. Path to Glory cards (June 5–19) might be available early, but if you can hold, the Glory Hunters or Summer Stars catalogue could have better value picks.

When Does the Token Store Close?

The entire Festival of Football event, including the Token Store, ends July 24, 2026. Any unspent Tokens will expire. Don't sleep on spending them in the final week — set a reminder for around July 17 to check what's left in the store.
