Pre-Download Information

HoYoverse has officially announced the pre-download for Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.1, subtitled "The Impending Crash of Waves." Starting from July 14 at 12:00 (UTC+8), players can prepare for the update scheduled for July 16 at 06:00 (UTC+8). This ensures a smooth transition into new content and gameplay enhancements.

It is recommended that players take advantage of the pre-download period, as it allows access to the updated files early, thereby reducing wait times after the maintenance period ends.

File Sizes

Before initiating the pre-download, players should be aware of the required file sizes for each platform:

• PC: ~8 GB
• Mobile (Android/iOS): ~5 GB
• PS5: ~14 GB
• Xbox: ~20 GB

Please note that the overall size may vary based on installed voice packs.

How to Pre-Download

Each platform has its own method for pre-downloading the update:

• PC: Access the HoYoPlay Launcher → Click the "Pre-Download" icon next to "Start Game." You can continue playing while the download occurs.
• Android/iOS: Tap the "Pre-Download Resources" icon on the game's main screen. Be aware that you cannot play while downloading on mobile.
• PS5: If there is sufficient storage, the console will automatically initiate the download after starting the game. You can continue playing while the update is downloading.
• Xbox: The download will automatically start once the game is opened (if storage allows). Alternatively, it can be initiated manually via: Xbox Home > My games & apps > Manage > Updates. You can still play during the download.

Manual Update Instructions

Once the maintenance begins on July 16, players will have to update the game manually. Here’s how:

• PC: Exit the game, restart the launcher, and select update.
• Android: Follow the prompts from in-game notifications.
• iOS: Head to the App Store and choose "Update."
• PS5: Highlight the game, press Options, and select "Check for Updates."
• Xbox: Navigate to the Updates page under My games & apps.

Update Compensation

To show gratitude for player patience during the downtime, all eligible players will receive Polychrome x300 as compensation.

• Eligibility: Players must reach Inter-Knot Level 4 before July 16 at 06:00 (UTC+8).
• Delivery: Compensation will be provided via in-game mail post-update.
• Claim Deadline: The compensation must be claimed before the conclusion of Version 2.1.
