Genshin Impact Ends PS4 Support: Essential Information for Players

If you are a dedicated player of Genshin Impact on the Playstation 4, it's crucial to understand the upcoming changes. Starting on September 10th, 2025 at 06:00 (UTC+8), Genshin Impact will no longer be available for download on the Playstation Store.

This decision arises from concerns related to “hardware performance and platform application size,” as outlined by the developers on HoYoLAB. It’s important to note that players using Playstation 5 or other platforms will remain unaffected by this update.

The discontinuation of support will occur in three phases:

• (1) Game Removal on September 10th, 2025
• (2) Delisting In-Game Purchases on February 25th, 2026
• (3) Final PS4 Update Support on April 8th, 2026

How to Keep Playing in 2026

After the significant date of September 10th, 2025, players can no longer download Genshin Impact for PS4 from the Playstation Store. Existing players can still enjoy the game until the delisting begins. However, if you haven't downloaded the game yet, unfortunately, you won't be able to search for or install it.

If you have previously played Genshin Impact on your PS4, you can re-download it anytime; this remains possible even if the game is uninstalled. Until the delisting, you can continue to make in-game purchases through the Playstation Store and the In-Game Shop.

Starting on February 25th, 2026, players will no longer be able to make purchases through the Playstation Store or the in-game store for the PS4 version. If you have not yet claimed any purchases, you must do so before April 8th, 2026.

Come April 8th, 2026, there will be no more updates or support for Genshin Impact on the PS4. Access to the game from the PS4 will be completely halted. Any purchases made through the Playstation Store will need to be accessed via other supported devices, like the PS5.

Transitioning from PS4 to a newer console does not have to be daunting. Starting from December 17th, 2025, upon opening Genshin Impact on your PS4, you will be prompted to link your account to other login methods. You can navigate to the User Center through the in-game Paimon Menu (Settings > Account > User Center).
