Shadows can significantly impact your gameplay experience in FC 26. Thankfully, the game provides a straightforward way to disable them. However, many players are facing bugs with this feature as of now. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you turn off shadows successfully:
- Launch the game and wait until you reach the main screen.
- Navigate to Settings.
- Go to Game Settings.
- Select the Visual options.
- Scroll down to Accessibility.
- Here, you will find the toggle to turn off Shadows (refer to the screenshot below).
Once you return to the match, shadows should be gone. However, it’s worth noting that this is dependent on the feature functioning correctly, which, unfortunately, is not always the case at the moment.
FC 26 Shadows Fix
While a permanent solution is anticipated from EA Sports in upcoming updates, here are some temporary fixes you can try for a better experience:
- After disabling shadows, avoid jumping directly into a match. Instead, restart FC 26. After restarting, return to settings to enable shadows again, and then disable them once more before starting a new game.
This method has shown mixed results on consoles. Here are additional tips to prevent shadow-related visual issues:
- If you're playing Ultimate Team, opt for a stadium item that doesn't cast shadows; the default stadium, for instance, has no shadows.
- In other modes, change the match settings to play at night to avoid the sun and its resulting shadows.
Additionally, using lighter-colored kits can help prevent your jerseys from appearing distorted by shadows.
