FC 26 World's Game Update: Free Pelé Evo, FUT Tokens & Festival of Football — Complete Guide (June 4)

EA just dropped one of the biggest mid-cycle updates FC 26 has seen. The World's Game Update lands June 4, and if you're not paying attention right now, you're going to miss out on a free Pelé Evo and a completely redesigned rewards system. Here's the short version: stop spending your FUT Champions rewards picks on random fodder packs — the new FUT Tokens system lets you bank them and spend on what you actually want. That alone changes how you play the game from here to July.

Three things matter most heading into June 4: the free Pelé Evolution, the FUT Token economy switchover, and the 5-promo Festival of Football roadmap that runs through end of July. Let's break them all down.

📅 Key Dates — What's Coming & When

🏆 Free Pelé Evo — No Brainer, Claim Day One

EA is handing out a free Pelé Evolution from June 4. Pelé's base card is available to all players and gets upgraded via the Evo path unlocked with the update. If you don't have him in your club already, you'll be able to pick him up. The Evo pushes him into the 93 OVR range — and at zero coins cost, this is the definition of a no brainer. Grab it the moment the update drops, no conditions.

Note: Pelé's exact evolved stats are not yet confirmed in our card database. We'll update this section the moment June 4 data is live. Don't let that stop you claiming — free 93 OVR is free 93 OVR.

🪙 FUT Tokens — The Biggest Change Nobody's Talking About

This is the one that actually changes your weekly grind. From June 4, the old system of fixed weekly rewards (packs, coins, players picks) gets replaced by FUT Tokens. Here's how it works:

• You earn Tokens through FUT Champions (Weekend League), Season Objectives, and other in-game activities
• Tokens accumulate in a dedicated store — you choose when and what to spend them on
• The Token Store will feature rotating items: specific player cards, packs, cosmetics, and more across the Festival of Football promos
• Tokens carry over between weeks — no more "use it or lose it" reward pressure

Honest take: don't spend Tokens on the first thing you see in the store. EA's track record is to put the best items in the store at the end of a promo or during peak events. Bank them for at least 2 weeks and see what Path to Glory and the follow-up promos bring to the store.

🔁 EVO Undo — Finally

The community has been asking for this since Evolutions launched. From June 4, you can undo an Evolution on a player card if you don't like the result or want to try a different Evo path. This is huge for anyone who accidentally burned an Evo on a suboptimal player or wants to re-route a card after seeing a better Evo come out.

Key things to understand: Evo Undo is likely to have limits (EA hasn't confirmed unlimited resets — assume one undo per Evo slot until official clarification). Use it smart — if you've been sitting on a card waiting to commit to an Evo, now is the time.

⚽ International Tournaments Mode

The World's Game Update also adds a dedicated International Tournaments mode to FC 26. This brings national team competition into the game in a structured way — think tournament brackets with international squads, separate from regular FUT. Specific details on format and rewards will be confirmed at launch on June 4. Worth exploring on day one, especially for players who build national team squads as a hobby.

🎯 What You Should Do Right Now (Before June 4)

• Don't waste your fodder on filler SBCs this week. With 5 promos incoming from June 5, there will be better SBCs to feed good fodder into.
• Save your WL reward packs — if your FUT Champs rewards are sitting unopen, open them now to free up the reward slot, but don't spend picks on meh 84-rated untradeable players.
• Check your Evolutions — if you have pending Evo slots, you may want to wait until June 4 when EVO Undo is live before committing to a path.
• Read the full EA Pitch Notes for gameplay changes (pressing sensitivity, positioning tweaks, goalkeeper updates) — some of these will affect your tactics setup from June 4 onward.

🔮 Festival of Football Promo Roadmap

EA has confirmed 5 promos running through the Festival of Football event (June 5 – end of July). The first confirmed promo name is Path to Glory — historically one of the most popular FUT promos, featuring players who boosted during major international tournaments. With the World Cup cycle heating up, expect strong national team players in this pool.
