FUTTIES Countdown Evolution went live July 21 — 100K coins or 500 FC Points, +3 OVR, and 72 hours of Training Camp with your card locked out of matches. It is a straight coin-price boost aimed at ≤94 OVR outfielders, and with FUTTIES Team 1 dropping July 24 at 6pm UK, this is the last window to upgrade a card before the promo pack rush spikes your fodder costs. Below: full requirements, the upgrade math per level, and the five best base cards to burn it on.
The eligibility gate is loose on paper and tight in practice. Anything at 95 OVR and above is locked out (no TOTY, no Icon-tier 95 promos), and Silver Icons plus Goalkeepers are excluded outright.
| Max OVR | 94 |
| Excluded positions | Goalkeepers |
| Excluded rarity | Silver Icons / World Tour Silver Superstar |
| Cost | 100,000 coins or 500 FC Points |
| Challenge | Training Camp (no matches) |
| Lock duration | 72 hours (36h + 36h across two levels) |
| Position / nation / league | No restriction |
Two things matter more than they read on paper. First, Training Camp means no matches — you queue it once, the card disappears from your active squad for three days, and it comes out with the upgrade applied. Second, the 72-hour lock is real: if you commit a card on July 21 evening, you cannot use it in your FUTTIES Team 1 opening pack matches on July 24 evening. Plan accordingly.
Total boost package: +3 OVR, capped at 96, split across two 36-hour segments. The stat gains are big enough to matter and the caps are low enough that a mid-93 card comes out roughly equal to a 96 promo release.
LEVEL 1 · 36 hours
+5 Pace (cap 95)
+5 Shooting (cap 96)

LEVEL 2 · 36 hours
+4 Passing (cap 96)

+4 Physical (cap 96)

Combined: +3 OVR ceiling 96 · caps kick in fast on 92–94 cards
Because every stat is capped at 96 (and Pace at 95), the players who gain the most are the ones sitting in the 88–92 pace or 90–92 shooting brackets on 92–94 base OVR. If a card is already at 95 Pace, this Evolution wastes the Pace boost. If it is at 88 Pace, you land at 93.
The eligibility cap kills the obvious names — TOTY R9, TOTY Beckenbauer, any TOTS 95+, and every 95-rated Fantasy FC card is locked out. That pushes the meta pool toward 92–94 promo cards you probably already own. Five picks worth the 100K:

Base sheet: 93 PAC / 94 SHO / 97 PAS / 94 DRI / 82 DEF / 90 PHY. The Evolution takes him to 95 PAC / 96 SHO / 96 DRI / 96 PHY — every attacking stat sitting at cap. Beckham on this Evo is the highest ceiling in the pool because he already has 97 Passing baseline and this pushes everything else to meet it. No brainer if you have him in club.

Base 94 PAC / 90 SHO / 94 PAS / 94 DRI / 92 DEF / 90 PHY. Already sitting at the OVR cap so the +3 OVR only lifts him to the same number, but the stat gains do land: Shooting to 95, DEF to 96, PHY to 94. Post-Evo he plays like a box-to-box CM with elite recovery — that is what meta squads have been paying 600K for on the current market.

Base 95 PAC / 91 SHO / 90 PAS / 96 DRI / 42 DEF / 77 PHY. Pace is already at the cap so that boost is wasted, but the +4 to Physical (77 → 81) and the +5 to Shooting (91 → 96) are exactly the two stats holding Hazard back from being an actual meta LW. Post-Evo he stops falling over and starts finishing every rebound.

Base 89 PAC / 99 SHO / 86 PAS / 92 DRI / 49 DEF / 92 PHY. Shooting caps out (already at 99, +5 is wasted on the ceiling) but the Pace bump 89 → 94 and Passing 86 → 90 turn him into a striker who can actually build play instead of just pressing the finish button. The best budget-tier ST target in the eligible pool because the base card sits under 250K on most consoles.

Base 93 PAC / 80 SHO / 90 PAS / 92 DRI / 91 DEF / 93 PHY. RB is a slept-on Evolution target because most people spend Evos on attackers. Dumfries post-Evo: 95 PAC / 95 DEF / 96 PHY — that is a 96-tier right back at zero SBC cost. If you already have him from Glory Hunters, this is the highest defensive-side value in the pool.
Anything at 95+ base OVR is locked out — every TOTY defender, every TOTS 95+, and the recent Trophy Titans 95-rated tier. Goalkeepers are hard-excluded too, so do not try to burn it on your Icon GK.
Also skip: cards already at 95 Pace baseline (Hazard aside, where the other gains carry). A 95 Pace card wastes the entire Level 1 speed upgrade. And avoid running it on a card you plan to sell — the FUTTIES rarity upgrade at Level 2 makes the card untradeable in most implementations of past Countdown chains, so you are choosing between "keep forever" and "market flip."
FUTTIES Team 1 lands July 24 at 6pm UK time, followed by Team 2 and the community vote batches through August. Countdown Evolution went live three days early on purpose — EA wants players staring at their squad, spotting the gaps, and coming into the Team 1 pack drop already primed on which slots need a 96-tier upgrade.
What that means for you: coins get expensive between now and July 24 as everyone rebuilds around the new promo. If you were going to top up your balance for the FUTTIES pack push, do it before Team 1 drops — the market softens for base card sellers the moment a new promo pack releases and buyers realise the eligible pool has shifted.
FUTTIES Countdown is the most straightforward Evolution of the summer. 100K flat, no match grind, +3 OVR with meaningful stat caps on 88–92 attacker stats. Run it on Beckham GotG or Goretzka Glory Hunters if you own them, on Lewandowski Fantasy FC as the budget pick, or on Dumfries if your right back slot is the weak link. Commit tonight so the card unlocks in time for Team 1 on Thursday.
